Obama Blames 9/11 On Lack Of Empathy

But, no, it couldn’t have anything to do with the psychopathy of the “Religion of Peace,” of course. Via Stop The ACLU, the New Yorker article that accompanied the wild cover, we get

We must also engage, however, in the more difficult task of understanding the sources of such madness. The essence of this tragedy, it seems to me, derives from a fundamental absence of empathy on the part of the attackers: an inability to imagine, or connect with, the humanity and suffering of others. Such a failure of empathy, such numbness to the pain of a child or the desperation of a parent, is not innate; nor, history tells us, is it unique to a particular culture, religion, or ethnicity. It may find expression in a particular brand of violence, and may be channeled by particular demagogues or fanatics. Most often, though, it grows out of a climate of poverty and ignorance, helplessness and despair.

We will have to make sure, despite our rage, that any U.S. military action takes into account the lives of innocent civilians abroad. We will have to be unwavering in opposing bigotry or discrimination directed against neighbors and friends of Middle Eastern descent. Finally, we will have to devote far more attention to the monumental task of raising the hopes and prospects of embittered children across the globe—children not just in the Middle East, but also in Africa, Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe and within our own shores.

See, they are just misunderstood, and a few well place social workers could have shifted the paradigm of their pathetic lives. Of course, Obama doesn’t quite explain how so many of the hijackers came from middle and upper middle class families, and had good educations. That speech was given on 9/19/01.

He seems to be more worried about the USA offending murderous Islamist scumbags then kicking the shit out of the group that attack the USA and killed 3,000 of our friends and neighbors.

Ace of Spades

I guess my thought that the attacks were carried by evil thugs in furtherance of a murderous ideology would be viewed as insufficiently nuanced by Obama.

Of course, Obama’s tune has changed very little to this day.

Van Helsing at Moonbattery and Right Wing News

Some will remember how humiliating it was to have the useless liberal rag Jimmy Carter in the White House when Iran invaded our embassy. The sniveling socialist post turtle Obama impersonating a President when the next 9/11 is inflicted will be a thousand times worse.

Can’t argue with that.

Daughters of Iraq graduate in Diyala Province

Things continue to progress in Iraq, and you would think a story like this would be important news, but, sadly, none in the Credentialed Media bother to cover it

DIYALA, Iraq – Iraqi women graduated from a security training course at the Alabarrah

Police Station in the Diyala Province of Iraq to become members of the Daughters of Iraq July 13.

One-hundred-and-thirty women attended the course and 70 represented them at the graduation.

Several Iraqi children celebrated the occasion by joyfully belting out the Iraqi National Anthem to a crowd of women ready to assist with the protection of their nation.

“We have seen some courageous, strong women stand up and volunteer for this training to help defend their country,” said Lt. Col. Robert McAleer, commander, Fires Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, as he addressed the crowd of graduates.

The Daughters of Iraq is a sister organization to the Sons of Iraq that seeks to employ more Iraqi women in roles that help provide and improve security for their nation.

Imagine this happening anywhere else in the Muslim world. Imagine this happening just a few short years ago. Imagine it happening under Saddam. No, wait, the women would instead have been targets for rape by Saddam’s goons.

Good thing Obama has always been for The Surge and winning in Iraq

Now The Left Is Upset By A Cartoon?

Here is what is apparently driving the Left, and Camp Neophyte, bonkers

obama new yorker muslim

Eeeeeeevil! Racist! Bigoted! Smear!

(Politico) The Obama campaign is condemning as “tasteless and offensive” a New Yorker magazine cover that depicts Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) in a turban, fist-bumping his gun-slinging wife.

An American flag burns in their fireplace.

The New Yorker says it’s satire. It certainly will be candy for cable news.

The Obama campaign quickly condemned the rendering. Spokesman Bill Burton said in a statement: “The New Yorker may think, as one of their staff explained to us, that their cover is a satirical lampoon of the caricature Senator Obama’s right-wing critics have tried to create. But most readers will see it as tasteless and offensive. And we agree.”

I’m sure Jane “Blackface” Hamsher will see it as satire. What? She doesn’t? Eeeeevil!

Will all those liberals who find the cartoons about Condi Rice by Ted Rall and Pat Oliphant funny and poigniant now call them racist and disown the two cartoonists? Or all the other nasty cartoons, which folks on the left, particularly the Democratic Underground, love? Will they slam them?

Those on the DU are very upset, and may cry.

Ed Morrissey: This makes the third bigoted attack from the Left on Obama. Two weeks ago, it was Ralph Nader acting as the arbiter of black authenticity, and last week it was Jesse Jackson wanting to castrate Obama. One side in this cycle certainly seems obsessed by identity politics, but so far it isn’t the Republicans.

Moonbattery: You would almost think the snooty liberal elitists at the New Yorker have acquired some insight into Obama’s character.

Michelle Malkin tells Obama to grow a pair (his wife carries them in her purse), and has many of the cartoons I have mentioned, plus many unhinged liberal assassination chic.

Stop The ACLU: We can only hope that this shocking New Yorker cover takes on a life of its own, and is seen by millions of potential Obama supporters. Maybe, just maybe, where our thousands of words have failed, a picture can succeed.

Tons more at Memeorandum.

RNC Wants YOU To Help Pick Platform

Back on July 8th, I mentioned the Democrats are going to be having Platform meetings from July 19th to July 27 (which is a good way to keep the unhinged off the streets), to come up with the Democrat Party platform. I was not particularly nice about it

Apparently, Senator Neophyte isn’t capable of actually figuring out where he stands anymore, so he has to ask others to do it. Hope! Change! Absence of leadership and vision!

So, what do I see while perusing ye olde Bloglines at the American Princess’ place? E.M. has a post up about the GOP soliciting ideas for its own platform, and she writes

The TechCrunch articleasks why the Democrats haven’t launched a similar measure, to which I respond — two reasons: one, they aren’t stupid enough to advertise to the entire Internet that their party lacks a cohesive platform which will drive voters to the polling booths in November, and two, they probably had something similar on MyBarackObama.com, they realized it failed and went back to traditional social networking.

confused monkeySigh. The RNC (website here, and Facebook app here) is doing the same dumb thing as the Democrats, allowing the masses to pick the platform. On the surface, that is not a bad idea, involving the voters in picking the what the Parties should focus on. Then you start thinking, and realize that 1. people who have no intention of voting Republican are going to register and leave comments, 2. Republicans are just not in to the whole Internet social sheepling like Democrats, as we are too independent minded, and 3. maybe the RNC should already friggin’ know what the Republican voters want them to do by now. Oh, and 4. how about some leadership, RNC? Number 3 applies to Democrats, as well.

So, what are the policy positions that are important to people who vote Republican?

Limited government, stopping illegal immigration, national security, stopping gay marriage, love of America, reducing the scope of the federal government, low taxes, reducing government spending, wiser and more cost efficient spending, defeating Islamic extremism, doing away with some federal departments (such as the Dept. of Education), support of the 2nd Amendment, the Fair Tax, drilling on American “soil,” support for Christian ideals, support of the family, workfare not welfare, re-institution of the 9th and 10th Amendments.

Obviously, not all float every-ones boat, and there are certainly more.

For those who vote Dem?

Impeachment, socialized/nationalized healthcare, fixing anthropogenic global warming, putting America’s security in the hands of the U.N., pie in the sky energy programs, increasing taxes on the wealthy (i.e., those in a different tax bracket then the responder), more federal government involvement in everything (except the military, which needs to be reduced), legalizing illegal immigrants, instituting the Fairness Doctrine, gun restriction, reducing religion, military action that has no bearing on national security (but running away when something goes wrong), treating with terrorist leaders, and surrender in Iraq.

What did I miss?

In all seriousness, when it comes to deciding what to concentrate on, experts will say to concentrate on no more the 3 things, otherwise, focus gets lost. If you could pick three specific things to get done first, what would they be? For me, reduce federal spending, which can be combined with wiser and more efficient spending (one part would be to change the government monetary allocation system, which is a long post in and of itself), go hard after Islamic extremists in ALL countries that support them, and drilling on American “soil” combined with alternative energy research.

What are your top 3 to start with?

Yet Another “It’s OK If Obama Lied (Lies)” Story

While the Grey Lady keeps up with their “just wondering” line of attacks on John McCain, as well as outright attacks barely disguised as journalism, they give us balanced pieces like this

In the breathless weeks before the Oregon presidential primary in May, Martha Shade did what thousands of other people here did: she registered as a Democrat so she could vote for Senator Barack Obama.

Now, however, after critics have accused Mr. Obama of shifting positions on issues like the war in Iraq, the Bush administration’s program of wiretapping without warrants, gun control and the death penalty — all in what some view as a shameless play to a general election audience — Ms. Shade said she planned to switch back to the Green Party.

“I’m disgusted with him,” said Ms. Shade, an artist. “I can’t even listen to him anymore. He had such an opportunity, but all this ‘audacity of hope’ stuff, it’s blah, blah, blah. For all the independents he’s going to gain, he’s going to lose a lot of progressives.”

Now we get to the point of the story

As Ms. Shade herself noted, while alarm may be spreading among some Obama supporters, whether left-wing bloggers or purists holding Mr. Obama’s feet to the fire on one issue or another, the reaction among others has been less than outrage.

For all the idealism and talk of transformation that Mr. Obama has brought to the Democratic Party — he managed to draw a crowd of more than 70,000 here in May — there is also a wide streak of pragmatism, even among many grass-roots activists, in a party long vexed by factionalism.

“We’re frustrated by it, but we understand,” said Mollie Ruskin, 22, who grew up in Baltimore and is spending the summer here as a fellow with Politicorps, a program run by the Bus Project, a local nonprofit that trains young people to campaign for progressive candidates. “He’s doing it so he can get into office and do the things he believes in.”

Moral of the story: it is OK that Barry has lied and will continue to lie in order to get power. Democrats in a nutshell.

Nate Gulley, 23, who grew up in Cleveland and is also here as a Politicorps fellow, said too much was being made of Mr. Obama’s every move.

“It’s important not to get swept up in ‘Is Obama posturing?’ ” Mr. Gulley said. “It’s self-evident that he’s a different kind of candidate.”

How? What makes him different? The fact that not only is he the most liberal/progressive person to ever run for President? Or that he is simply the most inexperienced? Or, he is the candidate who will lie the most?

Sidenote: the Times repeats the truthiness about those 75K people coming to see Barry speak, rather then for the concert.

Grey Lady Tries The “Just Wondering” About McCain’s Birth Again

Yeah, I am a bit late to the party been kinda iBusy.

Way back on the February 8, 2008, I caught some Lefties whining about McCain’s birth, and whether that made him inneligible to become President. I said it would become the next lefty meme.

Then the NY Times tried it on for size. They were “just wondering.” And Lefties have been pushing on that meme ever since.

Now, the Times tries it yet again

In the most detailed examination yet of Senator John McCain’s eligibility to be president, a law professor at the University of Arizona has concluded that neither Mr. McCain’s birth in 1936 in the Panama Canal Zone nor the fact that his parents were American citizens is enough to satisfy the constitutional requirement that the president must be a “natural-born citizen.”

The analysis, by Prof. Gabriel J. Chin, focused on a 1937 law that has been largely overlooked in the debate over Mr. McCain’s eligibility to be president. The law conferred citizenship on children of American parents born in the Canal Zone after 1904, and it made John McCain a citizen just before his first birthday. But the law came too late, Professor Chin argued, to make Mr. McCain a natural-born citizen.

“It’s preposterous that a technicality like this can make a difference in an advanced democracy,” Professor Chin said. “But this is the constitutional text that we have.”

OK. Sure. Whatever.

Back to my first post

McCain was born at Coco Solo Air Base in the Panama Canal Zone, August 29, 1936. Unfortunately for liberals, the Panama Canal Zone was a U.S. Territory from 1903 to 1979 (thanks, Carter!), so, any person born there was automatically considered a U.S. citizen, except if born to foreign diplomatic personnel. Woops!

It just goes to show the lengths liberals will go to gain power. Lie, cheat, make shat up.

Sister Toldjah: Could the NYT be more obvious in its repeated attempts at casting doubts on McCain’s natural born US citizen status?

James Joyner: Frankly, it might be time to simply fix the Constitution in the manner the Framers intended: by amendment. It’s wholly unclear to me why all of the restrictions on whom Americans may elect president (age, citizenship, number of years previously served) shouldn’t be swept away.

How McCain Could Win

Richard Baehr at Real Clear Politics tells us how he feels McCain could win this election:

I believe the key to a McCain victory is to focus his campaign and the voting public on the two candidates themselves - - their life stories, their experiences and accomplishments, their visions for the country, and their characters.  If the election is decided on these factors, McCain should win.

If one looks at life experiences, accomplishments, visions for the country and personal character, John McCain wins hands down.

John McCain
John McCain

John McCain’s character was honed during his years as a prisoner of war and his subsequent years serving the country as a senator. Through that unique and first-hand experience as a POW he learned clearly how horrible war is. He won’t be eager to get us involved in a war. However, from the bravery he exhibited during his POW experience, it is obvious that he also won’t shy away from war, if necessary. Freedom isn’t free - and sweet talk won’t change that fact. John McCain knows that well. In other words, he has the knowledge, background and experience to make informed and wise decisions for our country.
