The Hissy Fits Over Bush’s Knesset Comments Continue

Senator Squisy, AKA, Senator “someone mentioned appeasement so they must have been talking about me,” AKA Barack NMN Obama, is still whining about Bush’s comments, and all sorts of outlets, from the Credentialed Media to the left wing blogs to the Democrat stooges are still having meltdowns. It is front page of most of the credentialed media, and Barackobama.com features this video of the Messiah

That reminds me, I need to get some whine and cheese for the little soiree I am going to tonight.

(MSNBC) “I’m a strong believer in civility and I’m a strong believer in a bipartisan foreign policy, but that cause is not served with dishonest, divisive attacks of the sort that we’ve seen out of George Bush and John McCain over the last couple days, ” Obama told about 2,000 voters at a town hall-style meeting in a livestock barn.

“That’s exactly the kind of appalling attack that’s divided our country and that alienates us from the world,” Obama said.

This speech once again proves that Obama has missed the last 7 years of Democrat attacks on the United States’ foreign policy, much like he missed the 20 years of hate Jeremiah Wright spewed. Attacks such as

  • As Commander in Chief of the United States Military, I will never send our sons and daughters and our brothers and sisters to die in a foreign land without telling the truth about why they’re going there. Howard Dean
  • This country was the moral leader of the world until George Bush became president. Howard Dean
  • Shamefully we now learn that Saddam’s torture chambers reopened under new management, U.S. management. Ted Kennedy
  • You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq. John Kerry (humorously, Brainy Quote has removed John Kerry from it’s website. Guess his 15 minutes has expired)
  • George Bush’s vision does not live up to the America I enlisted in the Navy to defend, the America I have fought for in the Senate, and the America that I hope to lead as President. John Kerry
  • ”He betrayed this country!” Al Gore
  • “If I read this to you and did not tell you that it was an FBI agent describing what Americans had done to prisoners in their control, you would most certainly believe this must have been done by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime - Pol Pot or others - that had no concern for human beings. Sadly, that is not the case.” Dick Durbin

This is your party, Barack. Did you ever speak out against the anti-American hate emenating from your side? No? Goodness!

The Washington Post detailed some of the lessons of this whole exchange, one of them being

The third, and most important lesson, is that Obama is ready and willing to fight Republicans over foreign policy and national security concerns.

If only he was willing to fight America’s enemies half as much as he is willing to fight fellow Americans.

Joe Gandleman at The Moderate Voice (I believe I missed where there was anything moderate about the website, which seems to be a cheerleader for Obama)

Obama turned the proverbial lemon (being attacked by Bush and being put on the defensive and having to answer) into lemonade (going after Bush by rattling off specific criticisms, using humor and sarcasm and tethering McCain tightly to Bush one after McCain made a major speech in which the Arizona Senator tried to inch himself away from the most unpopular President in modern polling history).

Amazingly, Joe misses the point that Bush never mentioned Obama or any other Democrat, yet, immediately assumes that the speech was about Obama and the Democrats. What does that say about the mindset of Democrats and what they believe foreign policy to be?

In response, the McCain campaign said in a statement, “It was remarkable to see Barack Obama’s hysterical diatribe in response to a speech in which his name wasn’t even mentioned. These are serious issues that deserve a serious debate, not the same tired partisan rants we heard today from Senator Obama.”

McCain further went on to say in a speech

Earlier today, Sen. Obama made a few remarks I would like to respond to. I welcome a debate about protecting America. No issue is more important. Sen. Obama claimed all I had to offer was the ‘naive and irresponsible belief’ that tough talk would cause Iran to give up its nuclear program. He should know better. I have some news for Sen. Obama: Talking, not even with soaring rhetoric, in unconditional meetings with the man who calls Israel a ‘stinking corpse’ and arms terrorists who kill Americans will not convince Iran to give up its nuclear program. It is reckless to suggest that unconditional meetings will advance our interests.

It would be a wonderful thing if we lived in a world where we don’t have enemies. But that is not the world we live in, and until Sen. Obama understands that reality, the American people have every reason to doubt whether he has the strength, judgment and determination to keep us safe.

Mark Steyn

It says something for Democrat touchiness that the minute a guy makes a generalized observation about folks who appease terrorists and dictators the Dems assume: Hey, they’re talking about me. Actually, he wasn’t – or, to be more precise, he wasn’t talking only about you. (snip)

President Reagan talked with the Soviets while pushing ahead with the deployment of Cruise and Pershing missiles in Europe. He spoke softly – after getting himself a bigger stick. Sen. Obama is proposing to reward a man who pledges to wipe Israel off the map with a presidential photo-op to which he will bring not even a twig. No wonder he’s so twitchy about it.

I’d tell Obama to Man Up!, but, he is a liberal, ya know, so it would be a waste of words.

Obama’s Jedi Mind Tricks

Also commonly known as “groupthink” or “brainwashing.”

That’s funny, but the idea of Barack Obama as President isn’t funny. I got the following via email and it sums up neatly why Barack Obama is WRONG FOR AMERICA, and the agenda for which he’s using his “Jedi Mind Tricks.”

Policy wise, Obama will push us gleefully towards socialism, which cannot be good to the average blue collar worker, teacher or trucker, much less business owner or corporation. His policies will cause gas prices to skyrocket even higher and faster than they currently are. He is opposed to drilling for more oil. He is in favor of more regulation, and even thinks he is smart enough to determine the salaries of CEO’s.

On abortion he has a 100% National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL) rating. He is in favor of partial birth abortion, supports transporting minors across state lines for abortions, and is against holding accountable doctors who fail to provide treatment for babies born live after botched abortions.

On taxes he wants to eliminate the Bush tax cuts and will be happy as a clam to raise them. He is so far out of touch with reality that he doesn’t even think “we the people” want our taxes reduced.

On crime, he is against stiffer penalties against gang members, supports needle exchanges and is soft on sex predators.

On health care, he is a Hillary clone, and wants to create universal health care, which is just another term for socialized medicine…which hasn’t worked anywhere its been tried.

On education he supports sex education for grade schoolers and thinks anyone with a B average or above should get free college.

On guns, Barack is so extreme he doesn’t even put his position up on his campaign website. He proclaims his support for the Second Amendment, but is working hard to turn America into a “gun free” zone, where self defense is outlawed. Naturally, he is against concealed weapons.

Most politicians would be sunk with friends like Barack’s.

His associations with his pals are amazing — Jeremiah Wright, his spiritual mentor thinks God should damn America. Weather Underground member Bill Ayers, now a college professor stomps on the American flag and declares he wished he would have set off more bombs.

Barack’s pal Frank Marshall Davis who he looked upon as “father” is an anti-Christian radical and member of the Communist Party USA, while his official campaign blogger’s work appeared in a socialist magazine and he had a communist flag at his home.

Tony Rezko, of course is still in trouble with the law. Code Pink founder Jodie Evans not only raised money for Barack, but also for Islamic radicals in Iraq.

Is this guy actually qualified to be President?

Of course not, in the traditional sense. He got educated, has no business experience, cut his teeth as a community activist, breezed through a stint in the Illinois state legislature, and spent two years as a U.S. Senator.

“Qualification” when it comes to politics is different than the real world. Qualified to run for office merely means that you have connections, you have a fundraising base and you have supporters. That’s it. Many of us don’t, nor do we necessarily have the desire. But he does, and he has it all in a major way.

Is he actually ready to be Commander in Chief, to be the leader of the free world, to be the true hope of those living under oppression? Well, if you put it that way, the answer is no. His solution to Iran, radical Islam and the terrorists running rampant in Iraq and Afghanistan is to sit down and talk with them. He doesn’t get it. They are done talking.

Barack is a liberal forged from the same molten fire deep within the same mountain as Hillary Clinton. And since he is, and since she is so prominent, you’d think the Democrats would want a Hillary/Barack ticket, and not Barack at the top of the heap. After all, that would be the safest bet.

But no, Democrats are jumping ship on Hillary and swimming over to the S.S. Obama. Why? Almost nothing can explain it. . . except one thing.

And I am telling you it is not the obvious. It is not Barack’s message of Hope and Change that has struck a chord. No, just about every Democrat has been selling that same old swill for years.

Everyone knows that “Hope” to a Democrat means more money from you going to the government.

Everyone also knows that “Change” to a Democrat means jettisoning the Free Enterprise system and exchanging it for socialism.

Remember that.

Jesus or Obama?

Jesus or Obama? (Take the test!)

“Bitter,” oppressed people cling to God; “enlightened” people cling to teh Obamessiah.

What Barack Obama’s “bitter voters” sentiment really means

[Warning: Strong language, courtesy of the Bitter Left.]

I’ve looked around at the blogs talking about this elitist crap, and found (as has everyone else who’s looked) a lot of apologetics saying “he speaks the truth.” Well, they’re partially right. He does speak the truth about what the Left thinks of Middle America/Flyover Country. This, of course, is nothing new–we all know how they think anyone who doesn’t subscribe to The Party Line is ignorant, backwards, and bigoted. And nowadays, it’s even worse: anyone who doesn’t support Obamessianism is a “racist.”

Remember this?

Barack Obamism -Fuck Middle America

Think Prince Barry feels any different about you “typical white people” who have religion and God as a salve for your “frustrations?” Your “fears?” You know, like in ancient times when people were terrified by solar eclipses and other natural events and blamed the gods for them? That’s you, ignorant rube. You are full of fear and ignorance, so you turn to guns and God, just like cavemen and primitive people. That’s you. “Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions.”* Isn’t that what Obama and his “church” are all about–”oppressed” people? A “heartless” nation? “Soullessness” in America?

That’s why you fall for “the politics of fear”–the Left’s favorite lie–because you’re afraid and ignorant, and if you were only educated and enlightened like they are, you would have all the answers, and you’d have Hope™ for Change™. THAT is what they think of us.

Bush Daily Mirror - How can 59 million people be so dumb?

But hey, we can’t help it. We’re just “bitter.” We aren’t capable of critical thinking, because we didn’t drink the kool-aid from academia (if in fact we’ve ever seen higher education at all). That’s why only the “unsuccessful” end up in Iraq, because they’re brainwashed and otherwise hopeless, right? That’s why we rednecks (Southerners) consistently vote Republican, right? JesuslandWe don’t vote in our own best interests, because we’re brainwashed by fear-mongers and don’t understand the “truth.” They know what’s best for us little people, and when we don’t vote for them, it’s “Fuck Middle America.” The truly “bitter” people vote for angry, arrogant liberals anyway. Now he’s saying he was talking about the “bitter” people in his hometown and the people he’s met among his supporters? LOL. Those aren’t the people who are “clinging” to God, guns, and anti-immigration thought, anyway. He was absolutely insulting everyone who doesn’t support him–you know, the same people who don’t support him because we obviously are just afraid of the “scary black man.” The real truth is, if we’re bitter, it’s because we’re sick and tired of the arrogant bigotry of elitist jackasses like Barack Obama on the Left.

Now, Obama can repackage that garbage in lofty platitudes all he wants, and those who share his opinion of “middle America” will lap up that lie and “make it simple, keep saying it, and eventually they (we) will believe it.”*

Sorry, Pennsylvania, you’ll be part of Dumbfuckistan as well, if you don’t vote for teh Obamessiah. Those states in which he won the primaries are only granted a temporary reprieve until you readmit yourselves in November.

Soldiers Support …. Obama?

CandidatesABC news sent a reporter deep into the danger zones of Iraq to find out who American Soldiers are going to vote for for President. The reporter came away with some shocking sentiments from the Soldiers. For instance, she found out that Soldiers think about home and would like to be at home!!!! SHOCKING!!!!

“We think about how our families are doing back home. That’s a major concern, like how the economy is doing, also as well as where we’re going to be in the future. Because really, truly, what we consider we’re doing, we’re doing a valuable job, we want to make sure that the efforts we make are appreciated.”

The reporter also found out that the Troops are too engaged in what is going on there to keep up with politics back home. Lord. Have. Mercy! In a war zone they aren’t tuning in to CNN every night to see what the latest gossip is or how far they are going to have to go to willingly suspend disbelief in order to vote for someone this fall. Tsk. Tsk.

I don’t know what the Soldiers are so busy doing over there that they can’t chill out in the evening and tune in to ABC for the nightly Obama love fest!!! They didn’t have to work nearly as hard as this particular reporter had to work. She searched until she found three Soldiers who she could contort quotes from that could be construed to mean that they are going to vote for Barack Obama for President!

Now they can report that the military backs Obama for President!

Well done little ABC reporter! Well done! You know that had to be a difficult task, but she accomplished it. I hope she gets a big bonus for her efforts or a raise or a promotion. Its well deserved.

Tune in to ABC for more of The Love of Obama!

McCain Opponent Smackdown!

John McCain prepped the battlefield in his recent speech to the Los Angeles World Affairs Council, and Lee Cary of American Thinker gets down to the nitty-gritty of how McCain owns the issues.

McCain spent his first 300-plus words disclaiming an image that the MSM will eventually try to tag him with: an old, trigger-happy, fighter pilot. Far from trigger-happy - he knows the horror of war.

Then he obliquely juxtaposed his self-descriptive label of realistic idealist with an implied one of naïve idealist to be applied later to whoever becomes his opponent. Why did he not apply the label to both Democrat candidates now? Because he’ll make the realistic versus naïve comparison directly if Obama is the nominee, and indirectly if it’s Clinton, for whom he has more respect. Premature to make it now.

Assume that Obama is the nominee, as is likely. Merely labeling him a naïve idealist won’t be enough. McCain will have to do what President Bush has not done well. He’ll need to make a more compelling case for not withdrawing from Iraq too soon. In this speech he took an articulate step in that direction by linking the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan with “the transcendent challenge of our time: the threat of radical Islamic terrorism.”

Cary takes apart the Democratic attacks point by point - read it here. (Thanks to Conservative Belle for the tip!)

Next, Jonn Lilyea fisks a former Naval Academy classmate and fellow POW of John McCain’s who is now a peace and justice activist with Veterans for Peace (and hence, opposes McCain for President).

Mr. Butler begins by telling us what a piss-poor student and cadet John McCain was. I’m sure he wasn’t the first and as an ROTC instructor, I can tell you he wasn’t the last. The worst story he could recite was the time McCain took Butler, an underclassman, off of the campus grounds to a bar seven miles away and wouldn’t let Butler have a beer. GASP!

The smackdown is a thing of beauty. Read.

Finally, Guy Benson at Townhall analyzes the recent Democrat attacks, and finds them sorely lacking in substance:

The Democrats have offered a few recent glimpses at their initial plan of attack against John McCain, and the clumsy, off-the-mark contents of their general election playbook should be encouraging to Republicans.

Well, it’s not like the Democrats have ever let facts and reality stop them from flinging poo–they assume voters are too ignorant to know the difference. They may just be in for a surprise in November.

“A Significant Increase In The Army and Marine Corps”

I listened in on the blogger conference call today and was glad to hear Hugh Hewitt ask about a statement that had been made about an upcoming announcement from John McCain that there will be ‘a significant increase in the Army and Marine Corps’ under his administration. I was so happy to hear that he would build our military back up that I didn’t make the connection that he didn’t mention the Navy. I guess I just made the assumption he meant the military as a whole.

Hugh Hewitt, on the other hand, did make that connection and asked what McCain’s intentions are in terms of the Navy’s involvement in that military increase. I thought the response to that question was interesting.

In the blogger conference call today, McCain Senior Advisor Steve Schmidt outlined next week’s “Service to America” tour. Senator McCain will be making speeches from McCain Field in Mississippi, Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia, Annapolis, Maryland, Jacksonville and Pensacola, Florida. Each stop will underscore some aspect of the senator’s life story, as well as the McCain family’s many-generation commitment to the country’s safety.

At the Jacksonville stop, the GOP nominee will call for a significant increase in the size of the Army and Marine Corps. I asked if the Navy would be part of the call for an expanded military, and Schmidt demurred until the senator speaks next week. It seems to me that a naval power needs more than the 280 ship Navy we are headed for.

Expansion of the military is a crucial issue for the fall campaign. The Jacksonville speech will thus be a very significant milestone in Campaign 2008.

I will look forward to hearing McCain speak on this next week. With his legacy of connections with the Navy I suspect there will be a significant increase in the strength of our military … Navy included. I certainly hope so.

McCain’s pastor, Reverend Dan Yeary

With all the talk about religion in the election these days, and all the ridiculous garbage being peddled by the left–the latest pathetic lie being that Rod Parsley is John McCain’s “spiritual advisor” because he referred to him as a “spiritual advisor” (which Parsley is to plenty of people, but not so much to McCain), maybe it’s time to meet John McCain’s actual pastor.

You know, the guy he’s been listening to for fifteen years.

HOUSTON (Reuters) - John McCain’s Phoenix pastor, Dan Yeary, is a folksy patriotic Southern Baptist who opposes abortion and believes homosexuality to be a biblical sin, but says Christians have an obligation to love such sinners.

That puts Yeary, who heads the church attended for the past 15 years by the Republican presidential candidate firmly in the U.S. Southern Baptist mainstream, and in line with the Republican Party.

He offers a sharp contrast to Democratic contender Barack Obama’s former preacher Jeremiah Wright, who has stirred controversy with his fiery comments on race and America.

A sharp contrast? Yes, I’d say so.

Yeary, pastor for the 7,000-member North Phoenix Baptist Church, professes little interest in politics and prefers to focus on preaching and spiritual guidance. But McCain’s affiliation with Yeary will do him no harm in wooing support from the key Republican base of evangelical Christians.

“John and I are friends, he has called on me to minister to the family in times of challenge and difficulty,” he told Reuters in a telephone interview.

McCain, a former prisoner-of-war in Vietnam, was raised in the Episcopal Church but has been attending Yeary’s church for about 15 years. Yeary declined to comment on McCain’s reluctance to finally undergo a baptism ceremony, a key ritual of the faith.

“John and I are having continual dialogue about his spiritual pursuits,” Yeary said.

In an interview last year with InsideCatholic.com, an on-line Catholic forum devoted to issues of faith, McCain said he liked Yeary’s “message of reconciliation and redemption which I’m a great believer in.”

“And so I began attending North Phoenix Baptist church and I’m grateful for the spiritual advice and counsel that I continue to get from Pastor Dan Yeary.”

Yeary is obviously a better Christian than I am, showing sympathy and kindness toward Reverend Jeremiah Wright despite disagreement. I confess I only feel disgust when I hear Wright’s Marxist, un-Christian rage.

Yeary was sympathetic as a fellow pastor and said while he did not agree with Wright’s comments, all preachers eventually got caught in the trap of their own exuberance.

“All preachers have a tendency to overstate because our passion is so intense. But I thought Obama did a fine job in response. He preserved his friendship with his pastor while disagreeing with him,” Yeary said.

“I’m sure John McCain would probably say the same thing about me if he were asked ‘So, do you agree with everything your pastor says?’” he added with a laugh.

THAT is John McCain’s “spiritual advisor.” A man who loves his neighbor as Christians are expected to do, who bears a message of redemption and reconciliation. I’m not a Baptist, but I think I’d feel quite comfortable in that church myself. I’d guess most Christians would find that sort of church appealing.

Check out the North Phoenix Baptist “about” page. I think you’ll agree–”sharp contrast” is an apt descriptor.

My only issue with Reverend Yeary is…he’s an Auburn fan. (Now that is a sin. Roll Tide!)
