Obama’s Pastor Puts Church In Hot Water-Now With More Blame America!
We constantly hear the refrain from the Left about this mythical separation of Church and State. They get really upset when religious leaders on the Right get involved with politics and elections, and call for their tax free status to be revoked. They want investigations by the IRS and FEC right now, damnit! Throw the rascals in jail!!!! (Insert Dean scream here)
But what about when those on the Left abuse their tax free status? Anything?
Barack Obama’s controversial pastor and the church he’s served for 36 years may be in hot water over statements he has made from the pulpit in support of the Illinois senator’s run for the White House.
The Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. preaches that he follows the righteous path, but when it comes to the federal tax law, his Trinity United Church of Christ may have crossed the line.
How? He preached quite a bit about how great Barack “Mary” Obama is, and how bad Hillary is
“It’s pretty clear an indirect endorsement of Barack Obama - that’s not something you’re supposed to do according to the tax code,” said Andrew Walsh, a professor at Trinity College who specializes in religion in politics.
The tax code bans churches from participating in or intervening in a political campaign. Violations can result in the loss of a church’s tax exempt status.
Barack issued a wishy washy statement in response, but, where was he earlier, when Wright was preaching in his favor? Was he stopping him?
The IRS has really never done anything more then admonish churches for backing candidates. And it is doubtful that they will do anything in this case. But, can’t you just feel the hypocrisy of the Left?

Sen. Barack Obama’s pastor says blacks should not sing “God Bless America” but “God damn America.”
The Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obama’s pastor for the last 20 years at the Trinity United Church of Christ on Chicago’s south side, has a long history of what even Obama’s campaign aides concede is “inflammatory rhetoric,” including the assertion that the United States brought on the 9/11 attacks with its own “terrorism.”
