McCain Shoots Down Latest Rumor Started by the New York Times

As you know, the New York Times has been tying itself in knots trying to find SOMETHING on John McCain that they can hammer him with. They keep throwing rumors out there to see if something will stick. So far, nothing.

There was the non-affair and the ‘but … but …. but …. he was born in the Panama Canal Zone!!!’. Then they tried to bait him into losing his temper and when he DIDN’T lose his temper but called the reporter on her baiting they played the video of that over and over and told people he had lost his temper. Frankly, if THAT is an example of him losing his temper than I’m pretty comfortable with that. He was obviously irritated, but definitely not out of control. Give me a break. That was not an example of a man losing his temper.

Their latest is to try to revive people’s fears that he’ll succumb to cancer since he had a bout with it a few years ago. They aren’t saying he has it or that he’ll have it sometime in the future. They are just raising the question out of ‘concern’. Yeah. I’m so sure.

So McCain decided to let them know that this tact won’t work either.

PHOENIX (AP) — John McCain declared Monday he has been cancer-free since a bout with skin cancer 7 1/2 years ago, although the pending Republican presidential nominee underwent a full medical examination — including a cancer screening — earlier in the day.

The Arizona senator pledged to release the test results before the end of April, the same timeframe for releasing his income tax returns.

McCain cast the doctor’s visit as a routine part of his medical regimen, but the 71-year-old senator has faced questions about whether he is beyond the risk of a recurrence of cancer.

In August 2000, doctors operated on the left side of his face to treat melanoma, the source of a cancerous growth on his temple. The surgery marked him in such a way that McCain often jokes, “I have more scars than Frankenstein.”

“Everything’s fine,” McCain said at a news conference. “Like most Americans, I go see my doctor fairly frequently.”

Later, during a flight to St. Louis, McCain was asked if he was cancer-free. “Oh yeah,” he responded.

Okay? Is that done now? So now we’ll wait to see what the Old Grey Lady pulls out of thin air next.

So, that’s John McCain: 4, (if you count blonde and lobbyist as two separate attempts) Liberal Lunatics: 0.

[…] The New York Time Rumor Mill I don’t fully buy into the accusations of ’liberal media bias’ because the media’s bias seems to slant in different directions depending on the source/reporter/outlet. However, the New York Times as done everything it can to prove liberal media bias, and certainly has proved that it is no where close to being objective. McCainBlogs.com has written an excellent article detailing the NYT’s pathetic attempt to derail Senator McCain’s candidacy in McCain Shoots Down Latest Rumor Started by the New York Times. […]
